The out-going Registrar of the Adeyemi College of Education (ACE) Ondo, Mr. Felix Eniola Aderinboye, has commended members of the institution’s pastoral team and staff for sustaining and participating actively in the College- organized monthly prayer meeting.
Aderinboye who expressed gratitude for the support given to him by the staff, since he took over as Registrar, described the monthly spiritual gathering as worthy of emulation by other institutions of higher learning, and urged staff of the College to continue to join hands with the Management, in its drive at taking the institution to higher level.
Meanwhile, workers in the College have been advised to develop attitude of giving, in order to enjoy divine favours from God.
This advice came from a clergyman–cum lecturer in the institution, Johnson Oluremi Falade, in a sermon delivered at the May 2017 edition of the prayer meeting, which held on Tuesday May 2, 2017 in the institution.
Emphasizing the importance of giving, the French lecturer, explained that the need to help the less privileged in the society, has become necessary, in order to touch their lives positively, in compliance with the commandment of God, and to enjoy heavenly blessings.
He cited several passages from the Holy Bible in John Chapter 6 verses 1-14; 15-21; Revelation Chapter 3 verse 20 among others to buttress his points, and stated that the attitude of giving, which was demonstrated by disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Bible, subsequent upon which the ‘’ Miracle of multiplication’’ was performed by Christ, was aimed at teaching people, the need to develop virtues of love, kindness and care.
Stressing the importance of having absolute faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Falade enjoined the congregation to equally put their trust in Him for solution to their problems.
He said “Jesus is king over stormy situations and negative circumstances, hence, there is need for people to trust andhave absolute faithin Him’’.
Speaking further on the ability of the Lord Jesus Christ to do what people would regard as impossibility, the French Lecturer said this was demonstrated in the Holy Bible, where Jesus Christ ‘’ was seen walking on the sea, a task which negates the laws of nature,’’ in order to save His disciples, when they were faced with difficulties, while travelling in a ship.
The clergyman-cum lecturer, however, harped on the need for people to give room for Jesus to dwell in their heart, saying the decision would save them from crises.
‘’ There is need to allow Jesus Christ to enter into our heart. If we receive Jesus willingly into our ship, crises will come to end’’ he remarked.
Speaking on the out-going Registrar of the College, Mr. Felix Eniola Aderinboye, the clergyman described his tenure as remarkable and congratulated him. He later prayed that the Almighty God would continue to be with him in his future endeavours.
Similarly, the congregation also offered prayers forthe Registrar and wished him well as he leaves the College.
The programme held at the Olusegun Obasanjo auditorium featured song renditions, bible reading, and prayers for peace, unity, progress in the College, Ondo State and Nigeria in general.
It was attended by Principal Officers of the College including the Deputy Provost, Dr. Samuel Akintunde; Acting Librarian, Mr. Akinade Awoyemi; Deans and Directors, Heads of Departments and Units including Head, Information and Public Relations Unit, Mr. Moses Olusola Akinfolarin, Members of the College Pastoral team; staff and students among others.
