The Provost of Adeyemi College of Education (ACE) Ondo, Prof. Olukoya Ogen, has commended teaching and non-teaching staff for their contributions to the development of the institution.
Prof. Ogen also expressed happiness for the support and cooperation given to his administration by the workers as well as the relative peace currently being enjoyed in the college.
The Provost represented by his Deputy, Dr. Samuel Akintunde made the statement in a message delivered on Wednesday December 14, 2016 during the event organized to mark this year Xmas carol celebration in the institution.
Acknowledging the need for people to show gratitudefor numerous blessings received from God individually and collectively from the beginning of the year till the present moment, the Provost said the organisation of the carol was meant to show appreciation, andto thankGod for sending the Lord Jesus Christ to the world to save mankind.
While expressing the need for continuation of robust and harmonious relationship between workers and members of the College Management in year 2017, Prof. Ogen assured that his administration would continue to give priority to their welfare and introduce programmes that would enhance academic excellence in the institution.
In a sermon delivered on the occasion entitled: “Jesus Christ divine solution to man’s only problem”, a clergyman cum lecturer in the College, Mr. Akinola Ojo Olukayode, quoted the book of Mathew Chapter 1: 21 and 1 John 3: 8 and mentioned five significance ways through which he said, the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ brought joy to the world.
According to him, the birth of Jesus Christ and the miracles He performed while on earth, brought to the knowledge of the people, that there is no human problem that could be solved without recourse to him.
The cleric also stated that the coming of Jesus Christ to the world, created opportunity for sinners to be cleansed of their sin, before they would be allowed entry into heaven.
While emphasizing the need for people to look beyond the celebration of Xmas and the merriment associated with it, the religious leader said this was necessary, in order for them to understand the majorreason why Jesus Christwas sent to the world by God.
The cleric cum lecturer urged the congregation to seek constantly for knowledge about God through regular reading of the bible, saying the move would enrich their knowledge and keep them away from sin.
The programme which featured rendition of congregational hymns, bible reading, exhortation and carol presentations was attended by principal officers of the College including the Deputy Provost, Dr. Samuel Akintunde; Registrar, Mr. Felix Eniola Aderinboye; Bursar, Mr. Ganiyu Abdul and the Acting Librarian, Mr. Akinade Awoyemi.
Also present at the occasion were the Chairman Committee of Deans, Dr. Folorunso Balogun; Dean, School of Degree Studies, Dr. Ajigbade Ikuejube; Director, Division of Physical Planning Works and Services, Mr. Francis Babatunde Ajayi; Director of Medical Services, Dr. Ekundayo Ogunmosi as well as his Management Information System counterpart, Engr. Adedeji
Olufemi.
