1. EVENTS AND VENUE
The Provost wishes to thank the College community for its love, support and show of concern during the demise and period of preparation for the burial rites of his mother.
He wishes to inform the College community that the burial ceremonies have now been slated for Friday 10th February, 2017.
Invitation cards have been sent to all the Unions in the College.
The funeral ceremony is only a one-day affair as follows:
· Funeral Service at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Iretolu Street, Òkìtìpupa between 11:00am and 12:00 noon (Attendance by the children of the deceased, members of Jehovah’s Witnesses, close relations and Management only)
· Interment at Remmy Memorial Cottage, Off Royal Road, Ìdèpé- Òkìtìpupa between 12:00 noon and 1:00pm. (Attendance by the children of the deceased, close relations and Management only)
· Reception starts as from 1:00pm at Stella Maris College, Òkìtìpupa (for all guests)
2. DRESS CODE
In order not to impose any additional burden on staff members, all guests are enjoined to wear any decent attire for the event. There is no special attire.
3. SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF WHO WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND
a. Special arrangements have been made for the entertainment (music, feeding and drinks) on Campus at the Sports Complex for all students as well as other members of the College community who would not be able to attend the event for one reason or the other.
b. For effective crowd control and the safety and security of our students, the Provost has further directed that all students will be represented by the Student Union Executives.
No student should travel to Òkìtìpupa for the event. Any unauthorized student who attends the event at Okitipupa would have breached his/her matriculation oath and would be sanctioned appropriately.
ACETV will be relaying live events from Òkìtìpupa to the College community at designated viewing centres and on computers, laptops, and android mobile devices.
For the avoidance of doubt, Management in its wisdom considers it unethical to spend the College’s meagre resources on what is at best the personal affair of the Provost and his family and as such, the expenses for the burial will be borne by the Provost, his family as well as their friends and colleagues.
Other logistics and arrangements will be communicated in due course.
Any advice or suggestions from members of the College community on how to ensure a hitch-free event is very welcome. Please text or call 07032572857.
